Extron Panel Video

The Extron system is powered on by pressing the ON button.  This will turn on the projector and lower the screen.   The source for the video is selected using one of the input buttons.  The video will only be routed if the desired input is illuminated and the system is powered on.  The currently selected source will also be displayed by the projector.

Troubleshooting Video

If you are experiencing video issues in a Standard Extron Room, please use the following steps to resolve your issue.  Once the video is working, you may stop troubleshooting and do not need to complete every step.

  1. Make sure the Extron system is on.  This is indicated by the illuminated ON button on the panel.  If the ON button is flashing, please wait for the system startup to complete (may take up to 60 seconds).
  2. Select the desired input for the video source.  If the input is already illuminated, press a different input, wait a second, then switch back to your desired input.  Occasionally these systems get "stuck" on a particular input and need to be rerouted.
    1. If the video source (PC, laptop, Blu-ray player) is not also displayed on the projector, the system is routing a different source.
  3. Make sure the projector A/V MUTE or FREEZE is not on.  These settings can be toggled on the input panel.
  4. If there is still no video displayed on the projector, there a few more steps to take to resolve the issue:
    1. Check to see if the correct video output is selected.
      1. If you are using a Windows computer:
        1. Press the Windows () and P keys at the same time.  The Project menu will appear on the right side of your screen.
        2. Using the arrow keys or mouse, select the Duplicate option.
        3. Click Duplicate or press Enter when selected.
      2. If you are using an Apple computer,
        1. Make sure that your external display is powered on and connected to your Mac.
        2. Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then select the Arrangement tab.
        3. Make sure that the Mirror Displays checkbox is selected.
    2. Check the video cable connections at the source device.  For a laptop, make sure the VGA cable is securely attached to the device.  For the podium PC, check that the video cable is securely connected.  Try unplugging and reconnecting the video cable.
    3. Some laptops and tablets need to be plugged into power in order to send a video signal to the projector.
