Uncontrolled Room Video

Video on the projector remote is controlled using the source select buttons.  The source for the video is selected using one of the input buttons, but will most likely be computer.  The video will only be routed if the projector is powered on.  The currently selected source will be displayed by the projector. If that doesn't work, select "Source Search" and the projector will find the source automatically.

Troubleshooting Video

If you are experiencing video issues in an Uncontrolled Room, please use the following steps to resolve your issue.  Once the video is working, you may stop troubleshooting and do not need to complete every step.

  1. Make sure the projector is on.  It may take up to 3 minutes for the projector to fully power on.
  2. Select the desired input for the video source.  The source will be selected using the projector remote.  The correct source will typically be HDBaseT (for UHAL 140 and 216 use HDMI1 source).
    1. If the video source (PC, laptop) is not also displayed on the projector, the system is routing a different source.
  3. Make sure the projector A/V MUTE or FREEZE is not on.  These settings can be toggled on the projector remote.
  4. If there is still no video displayed on the projector, there a few more steps to take to resolve the issue:
    1. Check to see if the correct video output is selected.
      1. If you are using a Windows computer:
        1. Press the Windows () and P keys at the same time.  The Project menu will appear on the right side of your screen.
        2. Using the arrow keys or mouse, select the Duplicate option.
        3. Click Duplicate or press Enter when selected.
      2. If you are using an Apple computer,
        1. Make sure that your external display is powered on and connected to your Mac.
        2. Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then select the Arrangement tab.
        3. Make sure that the Mirror Displays checkbox is selected.
    2. Check the video cable connections at the source device.  For a laptop, make sure the HDMI or VGA cable is securely attached to the device and the wall plate.  For the podium PC, check that the video cable is securely connected.  Try unplugging and reconnecting the video cable.
    3. Some laptops and tablets need to be plugged into power in order to send a video signal to the projector.
  5. If the video is displayed but the image is distorted or cut off, press the AUTO or AUTO IMAGE button on the remote.
