Prerequisites and Notes

In order to utilize Cadence, you must first setup and connect to the LATS student Linux machine using this guide: Linux Remote Desktop Guide

OIT only supports the installation and license for Cadence. OIT will not provide any support for utilizing this software. If you're unsure how to use Cadence, please reach out to your faculty contact.

Opening the Terminal

Open the terminal application while connected to LATS via NoMachine:

  1. Click on the "Activities" button in the top left hand corner of the remote connection screen
  2. Search for "terminal"
  3. Select the Terminal application from the list

It should look like this:


Starting Cadence

  1. Issue the "source setcadence.sh" command
  2. Issue the "virtuoso" command
  3. Cadence will open (this can take a minute or two)

Your terminal and the Cadence application should look like this:
