This process is used to claim faculty, staff, department, and club accounts.
Step 1: Go to the My UCCS Account Website
Go to myaccount.uccs.edu on any web browser, the page will look like this:
Step 2: Click "Claim Your Account"
Click on the first link, Claim Your Account, the page will then look like this:
"Get back into your account"
Although the messages say, "recover your account", this is the new account claim process. Completing this form will give you access to your account.
Step 3: Enter UCCS Email or Username
Find the email with the subject "Welcome to UCCS! Your myUCCS Portal is being created!" or "Don't forget to claim your UCCS account!" that was sent to you. If you have received an acceptance email from the Office of Admissions, but you haven't received an email with your email, please reach out to the UCCS OIT Service Desk to get access to your account.

Then, enter your UCCS email address in the "Email or Username" field.
Complete the Captcha and click "Next".
Step 4: Choose an Alternate Contact
"You can't reset your own password because you are not registered for a password reset."
If you receive a message stating that you haven't registered for a password reset, please reach out to the UCCS OIT Service Desk so we can add a phone number to your account.
Choose an alternate contact to receive a code to set your password.
Enter the code provided and hit "Next".
Step 4: Change your Password
The page will now ask to change the password on the UCCS account. The password has to be at least 12 characters long. Passwords at UCCS cannot contain the name of the owner or their birthday. You also cannot reuse a password that you've used in the past.
Click "Finish" to complete your claim.
