This article outlines the steps to start a meeting, record the meeting, and then retrieve the recording once the meeting has ended.

Step 1: Start a meeting

Open Teams, click on calendar on the left-hand side. Then click on "Meet Now" in the upper right-hand corner. Then click "Start Meeting."


Step 2: Join the Meeting

Configure your settings and then click "Join Now"

Step 3: Start the Recording

Click "More" on the top of the screen, then click "Record and Transcribe."


Click "Start Recording"

Step 5: End the Recording

To end recording, repeat above step and then click "Stop Recording."

Step 6: Retrieve the Recording

To access your recording, click on the chat icon on the left-hand side of teams. Then click on the meeting that you recorded. From there, you click the three dots in the upper rand hand side of the recording and click "copy link" to share with an individual via teams or email. 

Step 7 (Optional): Extend the Expiration Date

If you would like a Teams recording to exist for more than the default 4 months, please click the "here" button on the yellow banner below the recording to open the recording settings.

Then click the button underneath the recording that says "Expires in 120 days". You can then choose to extend the expiration date to whatever date that you prefer.
