About SolidWorks
SolidWorks is a 3D mechanical CAD (computer-aided design) program that runs on Microsoft Windows and is being developed
by Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp.
College of Engineering provides SolidWorks to all students in Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), and the software can be installed to personal devices off campus.
Download and Install SolidWorks
Step 1: Go to www.solidworks.com/SEK
Fill out all contact information. Select "Yes" to the question "I already have a Serial Number that starts with 9020".
Once all information has been filled out, click on "Request Download" to continue.
Step 2: Accept and Continue
Step 3: Click "Download"
Click "Download" button in the next page.
Step 4: Installation Instructions
Run the SolidWorksSetup.exe. Choose "Unzip" and the installation files will be extracted to wherever you downloaded the setup.exe file to.
The SolidWorks installation manager will automatically start after it is extracted. Choose "install on this computer" and click next.
Enter the serial number provided by EAS IT in the field below and click next
If necessary, customize your installation options by choosing "change" to the right of each install option. The full SolidWorks packages comes out to around 18GB in size. If you are concerned about disk usage please make sure you only install the products you want by using the "change" option next to the products field. Click "Install Now" when you're finished adjusting the settings.
When the install completes, close the summary windows and open SOLIDWORKS 2021. Select "activate my SOLIDWORKS product now" and click next.
Leave the "automatically over the internet" activation option ticked and enter your UCCS email address. Click next.
After a moment SolidWorks should finish activating and you should see the screen below. Click finish.
SolidWorks is now activated and you should be able to open and run the application normally.
Request Serial Number
MAE students send a request to acquire the serial number at [email protected] or [email protected].
Deactivate Old Installations
Step 1: Open SolidWorks' help menu and choose "deactivate"
Step 2: Complete the deactivation wizard
Click next
Click finish
