Ensuring accessibility for all users is imperative to ensuring everyone is able to use campus resources. This article will discuss some common accessibility issues you might see in Monsido and how you can resolve these issues!

Workflow:

Navigate to Monsido and sign in with your UCCS credentials.

After signing in, you will be presented with a list of domains. Please select the search bar at the top right, and search for your domain (i.e. OIT for https://oit.uccs.edu/ ). Then select the Accessibility Icon shown below:

This will bring you to the domain's dashboard. On the left of this page, select the "Checklist". This will bring you to a list of the site's accessibility issues.

From here, you can find one of the common issues mentioned below, then select "pages" to view each page that is encountering this issue!

From here, you can select the "View page details" icon to view the page's details.

This will show the specific elements that are encountering the issue and their code.

While the code may be daunting to look at, we can highlight what this code is on the website using the Monsido browser extension by selecting the glass icon shown below! (Download Monsido Browser Extension)

This will then open the website in a new tab, and highlight the link:

For the accessibility issue we see above, it states to make sure that the link text is meaningful when read out of context. This is subjective, but you want this to describe where the link is going to take someone if they have no other context of the content on the page. For example, here might be a good place say, "Link to help article describing how to allow pop ups".

Once this has been reviewed, you can mark it as so! To do this, return to the original monsido tab you have open, and select the "Fast Track" icon:

You can then select "Action" and then "Review" to mark this as reviewed!
