  • 208V power is preferred, 110V is an option but is limited and only one circuit in a rack
  • Either IP KVM or Out-of-Band Management like IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, IMM or ILOM configured on the device(s)
  • Rack mountable in a 4-post racks with square or unthreaded round holes, standard width of ~19 inches and have a maximum depth of ~36 inches

  • Line side (feed or normally male plug) of the power cable needs to be either:
    • IEC 60320 C13
    • IEC 320 C19

Instructions

Please create a Cherwell ticket with classification "Network/Storage Servers" > " Data Center Servers" > "Add Equipment to Server Room"

  • Complete the Cherwell form found on the OIT Cherwell Portal
  • Fill the form out to the best of your abilities.
  • Some fields have tool tips if you hover over them.
  • If you select Other, in the comments field please include what it should be.
  • If you don't know what to put in a required field put a question mark (?).  After you submit the form someone will discuss it with you and fill it in.
  • You do not need to fill this form out for existing equipment. An email will be sent out when this changes in the future.
  • You do not need to fill this form out for internal hardware changes like: Adding/Removing RAM, hard drives, other storage etc.
  • You do not need to fill this form out if you are adding/removing IPs, DNS, etc assuming you aren't changing the primary one listed on the form.
  • There are tool tips available for most fields If you just hover over the input field.

FAQ

  • Our racks have a standard width of ~19 inches and have a maximum depth of ~36 inches
  • Line side (feed or normally male plug) of the power cable needs to be either:
    • IEC 60320 C13
    • IEC 320 C19
  • List who will physical install the device: vendor, yourself, or if you need someone from OIT to do it.
  • Eithernet connects are assumed to be RJ45 plugs, please note in the comments if you plan to use DAC or fiber cables.
