The AV system will power on when pressing the start page on the touch panel. This will turn on the displays and switch the panel to the main menu page.
To turn the AV system off, press the red Power Off button in the upper right corner. You will have 10 seconds to cancel the power off, then the system will shut down.
Source selection is divided into two sections, one for the Left Projector and Audio and one for the Right projector. To change inputs, select the input you would like to send to the projector listed. You may choose between PC, Laptop, Doc Cam, Blu-ray, and AirMedia.
It is important to remember that the audio in the room will reflect the source selected for the Left projector.
Volume can be controlled using the volume buttons at the bottom of any page on the touch panel. The raise and lower buttons are on either side of the volume bar and the mute button is located in the lower left corner.
The projectors will automatically power on and off with the system. Freeze and A/V Mute can be toggled for each projector separately using the buttons on the left side of the main menu.
The computer mounted on the podium is the primary source for this AV system. This computer runs the same image as all other podium computers in general fund classrooms and labs. You can sign in with your UCCS credentials.
The lectern is height adjustable. To raise or lower the lectern, use the buttons located on the right corner of the desk.
The AirMedia allows for wireless presentation of any device connected to the UCCS-Wireless network.
To connect to the AirMedia:
Selecting the Blu-ray source will open the Blu-ray control page. Use this page to turn on the player, open the disc drive, and navigate through the disc menus.
The Blu-ray player is located in the rack to the right of the lectern, just above the door.
Selecting the document camera source on the touch panel will route it to the projector. The document camera on the lectern is powered on by raising/folding it up.
On the top of the document camera are controls for zoom and auto focus.
There are two microphones provided for this space. One is a handheld mic and the other is a lapel mic.
There is also a microphone input panel which allows for two devices to be connected to the system, one for input and one for output. Both devices must use the XLR connections provided. Any microphone or audio input device connected to the input port will add audio to the system. This audio will be heard on the in-room speakers, the VTC system, and the XLR output. The XLR output port will allow any connected device to receive all audio from a selected source or the XLR input.
The VTC controls are located in the lower right cover on the touch panel. These controls allow you to select which source is routed to the VTC system. The audio for the VTC system will include the selected source and the in-ceiling microphone. This system is only connected to the wall PC and will show up as a USB webcam named "Vaddio AV Bridge." This "webcam" will allow you to stream or record class instruction using software on the PC, such as Microsoft Teams or Panopto. For more information on using VTC system for remote teaching, please refer to these resources provided by the Faculty Resource Center.
The in-ceiling camera can be controlled using the touch panel. To access the controls, select the Room Cam source on the main menu. These controls allow you to zoom in and out and change what the camera is fixated on. The presets may be saved for frequently used camera positioning.
The screen control subpage can be selected by pressing the Screens button in the lower right of the touch panel. Each screen, left and right, can be raised or lowered independently. The screens will automatically be raised and lowered with the AV system.
On the wall to the side of each screen are screen control switches that allow for screen control independent of the AV system.
The lights are controlled by the lights subpage in the top right of the touch panel. These controls mirror the same scenes that can be selected by the wall light switch by the door (pictured above).
