To change sources, select the input you would like to send to the projector.  You may choose between Podium PC, Laptop, Doc Cam, Blu-ray Player, or AirMedia.

The projector will automatically power on and off with the system.

On the left side of the touch panel are options for A/V Mute and Freeze for each projector.

  • Freeze will freeze the currently displayed image on the screen.  Use this feature if you'd like to hold a frame still on the screen or use the podium PC for another activity without displaying it, such as checking your email.

The screen will automatically raise and lower with the system.

Screen controls allow you to raise or lower the screen while the system is on.  This is useful if you'd like to use the whiteboard while the projector is on.  Manual screen controls are also available; located on the walls on eac

Using the Podium PC and Lectern

The computer mounted on the podium is the primary source for this AV system.  This computer runs the same image as all other podium computers in general fund classrooms and labs.  You can sign in with your UCCS credentials.

The lectern is height adjustable.  To raise or lower the lectern, use the buttons located on the right corner of the desk.

Using the Laptop Input

The HDMI cable on the lectern is for use with a laptop.  Connect your device and switch to the laptop input on the touch panel to project.

Using the AirMedia

The AirMedia allows for wireless presentation of any device connected to the UCCS-Wireless network.

To connect to the AirMedia:

  1. Select the AirMedia source on the touch panel
  2. Open a web browser and enter the address listed on the touch panel or in the lower right corner of the screen
  3. Follow the instructions on the webpage to download the app to your device
  4. Enter the IP address and code to connect your device and start presenting

Using the Blu-ray Player

Selecting the Blu-ray source will open the Blu-ray control page.  Use this page to turn on the player, open the disc drive, and navigate through the disc menus.

The Blu-ray player is located in the rack to the left of the lectern, just above the door.

Using the Document Camera

Selecting the document camera source on the touch panel will route it to the projector.  The document camera on the lectern is powered on by raising/folding it up.

On the top of the document camera are controls for zoom and auto focus.

There is one microphone provided for this space that is a handheld microphone.

To use the microphone, you must call the Service Desk at 719-255-4357 to get a combination to the drawer that houses the microphones.

VTC Selection

The VTC controls are located in the lower right cover on the touch panel.  These controls allow you to select which source is routed to the VTC system.  The audio for the VTC system will include the selected source and the in-ceiling microphone.  This system is only connected to the wall PC and will show up as a USB webcam named "Vaddio AV Bridge."   This "webcam" will allow you to stream or record class instruction using software on the PC, such as Microsoft Teams or Panopto.  For more information on using VTC system for remote teaching, please refer to these resources provided by the Faculty Resource Center.

Camera Controls

The in-ceiling camera can be controlled using the touch panel.  To access the controls, select the Room Camera source on the VTC menu.  These controls allow you to zoom in and out and change what the camera is fixated on.   The presets may be saved for frequently used camera positioning.

Using the Wall Displays

Pressing the green Power Screens On button at the top of the touch panel will turn on the wall displays.  The wall displays will all show the same source, which will mirror one of the projectors.

The Follow Left or Follow Right buttons will select which projector source is routed to the displays.
